    Note: A number of Best Paper and Poster Prizes are available. Recipients will be identified by the Scientific Committee based on presentations at the congress.

    Online submission forms

    Submissions are accepted via the online submission forms – see links above. First, you will be directed to register for an Oxford Abstracts account. Once registered, you can make your submission by completing all mandatory fields in the online submission form. If mandatory fields are left incomplete and/or a word count exceeds the permitted limit, your submission will be marked as 'incomplete' and you need to edit and resubmit it prior to the submission deadline.

    Chair/presenter registration

    Chair and presenters MUST register for the World Congress by the published registration deadlines or the session/presentation may be removed from the programme. Presenter substitutions are not allowed except in extraordinary circumstances in which case they must be discussed and approved in advance by the Scientific Committee.

    Symposium or Instructional Course proposals: The submitter (applicant) will be considered the chair of the Symposium or Instructional Course.

    Financial support

    ISPO does not provide any financial support – such as a registration waiver, accommodation and/or travel support – to the chair or presenters. Chairs and presenters are responsible for their own expenses related to their congress participation.

    Consent to publication

    During online submission, the submitter is required to consent to publication of the submitted abstract. The submitter is responsible for receiving consent from all presenters/authors before completing a submission.

    Session formats

    During online submission, submitters select the applicable session format.

    Note that if proposing an Instructional Course, you choose between a basic and an advanced Instructional Course. See the guidelines (PDF, 211.2 kB) for an explanation.

    Congress topics

    The programme will be organised by topics that are of interest to the international P&O community. During online submission, the submitter will be asked to select the primary and secondary topics applicable to their submission.

    Language

    Submissions are accepted in English only.

    Review of submissions

    Once the submission deadline has passed, submissions will be peer reviewed – the review process is double blinded, meaning that author and reviewer information is not shared with either party. Notifications will be distributed by the published notification dates.

    Presentation information

    Symposia and Instructional Courses are scheduled for 75 minutes. This timeframe includes topic and presenter introductions, presentations and time for questions from the audience/discussion. The chair is responsible for ensuring that the session adheres to the timeframe.

    Abstracts accepted for Free Paper (oral) presentation will be presented during Free Paper Sessions, which are scheduled for 75 minutes. Each Free Paper Session consists of 7 presentations of 10 minutes each. This timeframe includes presenter introductions, presentations and two to three minutes for questions from the audience/discussion.

    Abstracts accepted for Poster presentation will be presented as traditional paper posters in the exhibit hall.

    Presentations should not be specific to a particular brand or product. However, they may deal with a generic (non-branded) range of products.

    Details of the on-site presentation will be communicated to the submitter closer to the congress. The submitter is responsible for ensuring that these details are shared with the presenter(s).
