Kansai International Airport Osaka
The majority of international travellers will arrive at Kansai International Airport in Osaka, which is the second largest airport in Japan.
If you arrive at this airport, it is most convenient taking the Bay Shuttle, a high-speed ferry, which takes you to Kobe Airport in 30 minutes. Adult fare is JPY 1,850, one way journey, JPY 3,000 return journey. Foreign tourists may be eligible for a fare of JPY 500, one way.
Tickets can be purchased at the ticket counter on the first floor of Kansai Airport Terminal 1 building, at the shuttle bus stop (for Ferry Terminal) of the Terminal 2 building, and at the Kobe counter. Credit cards are accepted. After purchasing a ticket, board the shuttle bus for the pier at bus stop No. 12.
Arriving at the pier at Kobe Airport, take the free bus at the bus stop outside the pier to get to ‘Kobe Airport Station’, where the local train ‘Port Liner’ takes you in 8 minutes to ‘Shimin Hiroba Station’ located at the Kobe Convention Center. Tickets for the Port Liner can be purchased at ticket machines at the station.
Osaka International Airport (Itami Airport)
Osaka International Airport (Itami Airport) is a smaller airport offering connections within Japan. Limousine Bus services run regularly to Kobe ‘Sannomiya Station’.
From downtown Kobe ‘Sannomiya Station’, the local train ‘Port Liner’ takes you to ‘Shimin Hiroba Station’ at the Kobe Convention Center in about 10 minutes.
Kobe Airport is a smaller airport offering connections within Japan. It is located on Port Island, close to the Kobe Convention Center. If you arrive at this airport, the local train ‘Port Liner’ takes you to ‘Shimin Hiroba Station’ at the Convention Center in 8 minutes.

The Shinkansen high-speed train (bullet train) takes you for example from Tokyo to Kobe in only 2 hours 48 minutes.
Passengers traveling to Kobe by train will arrive at ‘Sannomiya Station’ or ‘Shin-Kobe Station’.
