Event profile
Every two years, the global P&O sector meets for the World Congress of the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO). Despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, ISPO has decided to stick to its mission to secure global knowledge exchange and interaction for all professionals involved in the care of patients in need of prosthetic, orthotic, mobility, and assistive devices. For the first time, ISPO will host the 18th World Congress as a unique virtual event where professionals come together through new online formats to learn about the latest scientific and clinical advances, products, innovative technologies, designs, and materials in prosthetic and orthotic care.
With the theme “Digital Transformation in an Evolving World”, the World Congress will explore how digital transformation affects all aspects of using and working with assistive technology, from booking a clinic appointment and electronic health records, to computer aided design, microprocessor-controlled protheses or orthoses, or video conferencing and social media. It aims to help the P&O sector to move forward, making the best use of digital and artificial intelligence technology to provide the best services anywhere in the world.
