ISPO Canada announced as the host of the 2029 World Congress
The International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO) is delighted to announce that ISPO Canada has been selected to host the 22nd ISPO World Congress in 2029.
The decision follows a highly competitive bidding process, with excellent proposals received from our engaged membership. ISPO warmly congratulates all proposals for the quality, ambition and professionalism of their bids, each of which reflected a deep commitment to advancing prosthetics, orthotics, wheelchair services, rehabilitation and assistive technology worldwide.
The World Congress is ISPO’s flagship international event, bringing together clinicians, researchers, educators, students, industry partners, policymakers and people with lived experience from around the world. The Congress provides a unique platform for knowledge exchange, professional development, innovation and international collaboration across the multidisciplinary field of assistive technology.
ISPO Canada’s successful proposal demonstrated a compelling vision for a dynamic, inclusive and internationally engaging Congress in 2029. The event will offer an important opportunity to showcase Canada’s expertise, partnerships and leadership in prosthetics, orthotics and rehabilitation, while welcoming the global ISPO community for a rich programme of scientific exchange, networking and collaboration.
ISPO President, Sandra Ramdial, said,
“ISPO is delighted to confirm ISPO Canada as the host of the 2029 ISPO World Congress. ISPO Canada presented an exciting and ambitious vision to the Executive Board, and we look forward with great enthusiasm to bringing our global community together in Canada in 2029.”
On being selected, ISPO Canada President, Krista Best, said,
“ISPO Canada is honoured to have been selected to host the 2029 ISPO World Congress. Bringing the global ISPO community together in Canada will be a privilege, and we look forward to creating a Congress that celebrates collaboration, innovation and shared commitment to improving access to prosthetics, orthotics, rehabilitation and assistive technology worldwide.”
ISPO extends its warm congratulations to ISPO Canada and looks forward to working closely with the local organising team in the years ahead. Further details on the 2029 ISPO World Congress, including dates, venue and programme developments, will be shared in due course.
For now, the ISPO community can look ahead with excitement to gathering in Canada in 2029 for another inspiring World Congress.
