Description

In the field of prosthetics and orthoprosthetics, one-handed usability is of central importance. This presentation focuses on assistive devices for individuals with impaired hand grasp function as well as for those with arm deficiencies.

One-handed usability: The practical application of one-handed usability aims to provide users of prostheses and orthoprostheses with the highest possible degree of autonomy and functionality in everyday life. The primary focus is on meeting the individual requirementsof an assistive device.

Advantages of modular design: The modular construction of assistive devices can meet both the needs for everyday usability and for activity-specific support during leisure time, without necessarily being associated with high costs. A modular concept helps ensurethat an assistive device can be used in a variety of ways.

Innovative approaches: Despite existing challenges in implementing modular concepts, the combination of innovative design and targeted video-based instructions offers a promising opportunity. This enables affected individuals to perform important activitiesas independently as possible, using only one functional hand.

This approach underscores the importance of one-handed usability and modularity in prosthetics and orthoprosthetics in order to maximize the quality of life and independence of users.
